Training for Lifestyle Coaches

Common Ground is an online learning community hosted by the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) at Emory University. Join This community is for Lifestyle Coaches who are delivering the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program.

If your organization needs training for your Lifestyle Coaches, there are currently 11 different training entities that can help. They have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CDC to provide training. Some of these training entities can also provide training for Master Trainers.

Become a Lifestyle Coach

Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle coaches lead groups of participants through a year-long program to reduce the risk of diabetes in individuals with prediabetes or at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Using a CDC approved, evidence-based curriculum, coaches provide support and guidance to participants and help them develop and maintain the skills needed to adopt healthy eating and physical activity habits.
