Hospital or health department based Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) programs across the state are certified by the Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and/or by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) or recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). These certifications are a sign of meeting quality requirements and adherence to the National Standards.
